Curriculum at TCS
In the spirit of true progressive education, our teachers prioritize students’ individual interests, focusing on the questions they are asking and who they are as learners. Instruction caters to each child’s academic strengths, with the goal of meeting grade-level benchmarks. We follow the California Common Core State Standards in planning the scope and sequence of content, while valuing emergent curriculum and "teachable moments" as integral to our approach at TCS.
We believe that authentic and engaging educational experiences are critical to student success. Our teachers emphasize collaboration and creativity, and empower our students to become lifelong learners who are capable of making a positive impact on the world around them.
